Emissary Trigger Pull Weight

Mja75

Alpha
So I had the opportunity to pick up the Emissary in 9mm and holy crap! This is one of the most amazing production/factory guns I’ve ever owned. Smooth, virtually no recoil, accurate (not to mention gorgeous)…. But my only gripe is the trigger pull weight. I love shooting it and would switch over to single stack/production in USPSA, but the trigger is like 5 pounds (super smooth tho). How does one go about getting ol Bertha to drop a few OZs? Or….do I just train with it and go?

Any competent gunsmith can lighten that trigger up.

I have never heard of any company putting a 2.5 lb trigger pull on a stock handgun.
CZ TSO - 1.75
CZ Czechmate and Parrot - 1.75
CZ Shadow 2 SAO - 2
STI DVC 3 Gun (both of em) - 2.5
Sig Sauer P226 X5 Supermatch - 1.75

The only used ones are the Parrot and the STIs, but I am second owner and all were purchased from a known entity. I had to send my MPA DS9 back because the factory trigger was so light it was bump firing off the reset.

If you say so...

But what you are talking about are factory tuned raceguns made strictly for competition and then the Emissary which is designed for defensive use, albeit one with so called defensive minded custom grade features.

Those are two very different classes of pistol. Which will have very different triggers.

Ah, on that we agree. But if you read my original post, I pretty much state straight out that I want to reduce the trigger weight for competition use. But yes, the scale doesn't lie.

And if you read my original post I replied in a similar vein. You asked if you should get used to it, and I said that personally I would.

But no matter, we are still talking a defensive pistol, specifically the Emissary, which will not have a trigger as light as a racegun from the factory.

Sorry, there were several posts and I lost track of who was saying what. And I know it won’t ever be “as light” as a comp gun, but if I can get it below 4# I can deal with it.
