EMP 3 vs Ronin EMP 3

Steverino

Elite
I'm new to the forum and a recent owner of my first Springfield, a Ronin EMP 3. Have shot close to 500 rounds through it and have found it to be very accurate and reliable. I plan to make it my EDC.
Has anyone shot both the EMP 3 and the Ronin EMP 3, and noticed any differences in the shooting characteristics of either gun?
Also, has anyone played with the adjustment of what I believe to be the trigger slide travel screw on the EMP model (which is lacking on the Ronin EMP)?

You mean the trigger over travel screw in the trigger? Both gun are similar, just the Ronin EMP version is a newer version of the older EMP.

Yes, the over travel screw is what I mean, and why was it removed from the Ronin EMP? Question of cost?
Wondering if the trigger on the original EMP is more of a performance trigger.

I don’t know, several of my 1911’s have the screw in the trigger for over travel, honestly I never messed with them. I don’t think it makes the older EMP a performance trigger, it doesn’t make the trigger actually lighter, it just takes up the over travel after you press the trigger. I think if you shot both, you really couldn’t tell much of a difference, my Springfield RO Operator, Colt Competition and my Sig 1911’s all have this feature.
