A product initially of Communist-controlled and Moscow-allied Czechoslovakia, as we have covered dozens of times in the past, the CZ 75 first hit the market in Europe in 1975, hence the name. While nothing in the design was new – every feature had already appeared in a production gun somewhere yielded a very sweet shooting pistol with a decent capacity that could be seen as a legitimate target or "combat" handgun, especially for its day.

Note: new-built normal capacity Pre-B mags are available from CZ-USA, so you don't have to scrounge for old pre-B mags.

Just checked the CZ-USA webstore and it looks like the Pre-B mags are discontinued, but the 18 Rd SP01 mags that the article said works in a Pre-B are there.

I guess I'll keep my Pre-B as a collectors item, but the CZ75 Retro is a pretty good look-a-like albeit with CZ75B guts and magazines usage. But it's a limited production model & not on the CZ active list, but still available.

For the record, the SG was MUCH lighter. In fact the reason Geddy Stopped using his regular 4001 ( one neck) is because it was too heavy. Geddy is Geddy and he still sounded like Geddy, but I very much prefer his tone on the early albums ( Pre Moving Pictures) when he was still using the Ric most of the time.
