father to be investigated

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it the shooters family that called the police on there son for threatening with knives? If so why would the father sign off and allow him to buy guns??
My opinion is the shooters past threatening should have Red Flagged him against any firearm purchases.
Total FUBAR!!!!!

If I hear the statement
“fell through the cracks” again I will lose my mind. 🤬

Must'of fallen through the cracks..........🤓
They must have changed the law at some point here in the last decade or so years. I never had to sign for my kids when they got theirs when they were 15-16. That would have been lates 90's and 2000's for them.
I certainly know for a fact my father never signed for me in 1975....

OK, I won't say it but it appears they are investigating the father to redirect everyones attention from their incompotence yet again.
I don't ascribe to the "sins of the father" style of law enforcement. The form they are talking about was signed over 3 years ago to start the FOID process. He is over 21 and got the weapons on his own.

It’s a redirect.
The father’s liability only applied to matters occurring while the son was under 21, not the rest of his life.

Can I apply for a FOID Card if I am less than 21 years old?

Yes, a minor can apply for a FOID Card as long as they have a sponsor who is a parent or legal guardian. The parent or legal guardian does not have to have a FOID Card, but must be eligible for a FOID Card. The parent or legal guardian must also sign an affidavit, HAVE THE AFFIDAVIT NOTARIZED, and attach it to the application.
Ohio doesn’t have any of this crap, you just have to be 18 for a rifle and 21 for a handgun, but I see probably soon you will have to also be 21 for a rifle
