FBI released their 2019 crime report. More knives were used than rifles.

When you look at the data generally 2/3rds of firearm-related mortalities are from suicide. Of the remaining, roughly 2/3rds of that are directly related to criminal use, and the remaining is from accidents.

And as the report indicates, the number of mortalities from "all-types" of rifles is very low. Thus, the so-called assault-weapons argument is a red herring.
