How durable is the Desert FDE finish on handguns? Isn’t it chemical resistant also. I have seen several guns with this finish and I am looking to get one with it.

Recently bought another M&P Shield 9 EZ, and it sports the Cerakoted FDE color. First FDE piece I've owned, and haven't carried it enough to see how it holds up. Hoping it doesn't show a lot of wear of the color on the leading edges of the slide from holstering. Using leather holsters now, so maybe the leather will just make the cerakote mat'l shiny.

Well went down to get the EMP, gone, Colt Python, gone, only 1911’s in stock were Kimbers, which I passed on, so picked up a Sig 1911 .45acp, stainless, Blackwood grips, night sights, and a rail, not crazy about rails on a 1911 or a Sig in general, but wanted to get a 1911.

Ok, has to move this to make room for the Sig yesterday.....I know.....it’s a Kimber.....it’s a 1911....and it’s in 9mm.....another shop is closing in my area and there selling guns/supplies basically at cost...so I got this.....so now, you can start on me about Kimber and what I have said in other posts on this forum.....had a weak moment after I saw this......

If the deal is to good to pass up then don’t. I’m starting to carry my 1911 ROYea weak, but for what I got in it, you would be weak also....
Finally got the holster loosened up enough so it has retention and a nice draw.

I had two Kimber's in .45 ACP and they were very well built. Although, their factory mags are crap. Yep. Toss the Kimber mags and go with Wilson.
Well, ok, I didn't toss the Kimbers, but they are in a safe place where they can't infect the others.
