Fed-Ex Mistakenly Delivers 30 M1A Rifles to High School

Minor Update: Other sources are reporting that on box of 6 M1A rifles was delivered to the school. Some sources are still claiming 30 rifles were delivered, but they appear to have been confused by the term ".30 caliber rifles". I was as shocked as you when I realized that most reporters know nothing about firearms.

We need a Congressional investigation. And a raid or 2....just to dig up some evidence.

Well, they are on the brink of going under. Between that and UPS not shipping firearms or related parts anymore I'd say it's a good time for someone to step up and start a freight company. Any takers ?

This whole thing stretches credibility to a new limit. Shouldn't someone (the person who signed for the delivery) have stepped up and pointed out this isn't supposed to go here? Isn't there some chain of custody stuff which should have gotten their attention? The whole thing sounds too fishy to blindly accept as truth. Fake news to advance an agenda, perhaps?

Bassbob, unfortunately it's not as simple as it sounds. Unless I misremember (not a stretch at my age) FedEx Ground was once RPS, which was a lesson to Roadway Services how difficult a start up parcel service can be to make a success.

FEDEX is over 50 years old, so it's not to new. Even with ups being over 100 years old they aren't much better!

yes, i had worked for RPS, but left for a better trucking job, a year or 2 before FedEx bought them out.

however, case in point, (for anyone that does not know), is that when FedEx bought out RPS, those guys were ALL owner operators at RPS, again, i worked there, i know this.

when FedEx bought them out, they kept it "as-is" with an all owner-operator division...now, here is something that i only found out a few days ago, and that is, now, there are "contracting companies" that handle many of those FedEx deliveries. the drivers wear FedEx clothing, drive FedEx labeled trucks (but have the real ownerships name somewhere on the truck), and those drivers are hired off the streets, and only shown how to make a delivery.

meaning, that the FedEx Ground (that was once RPS) isn't real FedEx employee's, (never was) but hired contractors.

which also means, "dumb as a tree stump, morons", making those deliveries.

real FedEx drivers/employee's, drive FedEx trucks, NOT FedEx Ground

Delivery mistakes happen daily, the fact it was RIFLES is what got the panties in a wad. Getting the wrong pizza would be far worse :D

To call FedEx contract drivers “dumb as tree stumps” and morons is RUDE. I personally know two guys that own their FedEx contract business and take pride in their jobs and work hard to do the right thing.
Every profession has those that don’t care about what they do, I’ve met many truck drivers who don’t drive safely but I won’t lump them all as being unsafe.

so be it...where YOU live, and who YOU KNOW, and what YOU SEE...

i KNOW what i see in my area, and on so many YouTube videos, sometimes even on the local and national news....it just isn't something that you can defend.

the numbers far out weigh the "2 guys" YOU KNOW

I remember the days when you could mail order a gun and it would be shipped by these folks:
