Female gun ownership growing

For 8 years that I was running those classes, at least half my CWFL students were women. With most, it was their first experience with firearms. But in my experience most do not carry. I think concerns about preventing accesss to the firearm by kids and grandkids is a big factor, as well as concealment challenges with women's fashions. But there are a fair number who do carry and will go all momma grizzly if their loved ones are threatened.

Hayes, what does CWFL stand for..?

Firearm culture is a huge part of my life. It started with my move here from Canada and has gotten more intense in the past year, to the point where I can’t imagine being forbidden to carry. I am one of few women who train at my range, but I don’t let that bother me.

I am glad that you joined the ranks of concealed carriers, Bella. I also appreciate your involvement in the forum here. It is nice to get a woman’s opinion on our discussions, and your tolerance (and forgiveness!) when some threads go a little off-topic and get a little racy is much appreciated. Some of us tend to forget sometimes there are women on the forum too. :)

the club i belong to has a few ladies that shoot with thier husbands....there are a couple that are single.

at the range i go to, there have been many gals there, some with thier BF's, or dads, or with another woman.

there was a pair that were regulars there, but i haven't seen them in a long time, they may just be going on a different day.....but one also spoke of the cost of the ammo prices, and i can understand that, if one or both of them are single and have other things to pay for.

Agreed. And we are at times in need of adult supervision.
