My personal opinion:

brits had the ugliest of guns in WW2. Functional. Perhaps very accurate ( Enfield), but dang were they all fugly. Their revolvers were the only poor souls with any good looks.

Sten guns are kinda cool.

Knew someone who (quite illegally) built one out of a parts kit and a piece of exhaust tube just to see if he could, and if it would work. It did, and he destroyed it after satisfying his curiosity.

He passed away a few years ago, so...he's pretty much safe from prosecution.

The Brit Enfield's were known for their rate of fire, and not for their accuracy based on the bolt headspace stretching in use.

BTW - I've alsways thought the Brit Sterling was/is the coolest SMG.

Sterlings are cool (the Stormtrooper factor)...but Lanchesters are cooler, imho.
