Fighting Iron: The Fall of the Reising Submachine Gun

You mean like this one..... Trump-Thompson-Cover-1250.jpg

I had one and it just plain sucked. When to the Thompson, great and very heavy. Then I was thinking to have a FA 45acp is crazy. The amount of ammo it used in a hour of shooting was totally crazy. So I found a 45acp UZI semi auto that worked out better for my needed (range gun). I still have it in my collection. I will post pictures of it later

another great plink 45acp is a Marlin Camp 45 what's so cool is that's it uses 1911 mags. The downside on the UZI is that factory mags are super hard to find it also hold only 16rds and cost $100 per mags.

Yikes, that's a lot for mags Ricky. I have a Thompson 1927A1 semi auto, and found the 50 round drum mags to be expensive as well. Some places wanted $300+. I got 1 at Sarco's for $185 and felt fortunate. Do you own these in full auto? Nice looking pics by the way.

I like to use factory mags on all my weapons. Even the M1A I ended buying 6 20rd mags for it. H&K mags are not cheap, But I bought 10 MP5 mags that runs $65 per 32rd mags. $650 for just mags! The H&K 91 (308) mags run for $6 per mag, only because the G3 is the standard NATO rifle. Now the H&K 93 (5.56) mags shoots up to $70 per 30rd mags. yes I know you can buy other mag that will work fine. Its a long story, but as a Rookie cop we got into a firefight in a ally. I run out of ammo on my duty weapon so I start to use my back up weapon a Beretta 82 (380) when I when to reload, one FTF after another. To find out later it was NOT a factory mag. From there on only factory mag. Now (retired) I have so many because I don't like to reload at the range.

Maybe over did it on the H&K mags

Overdid it, I'd say 😄. Must of been :poop: hit the fan (or other places), having problems with mags/firearm during a firefight. Glad you made it out OK. I see your reasoning for wanting only factory mags. I'm the same at the range Ricky. Multiple mags (100-200 rds), already loaded & more ammo to reload there (somewhat arthritic fingers). I'd say there's no reloading for the above picture when at the range with that stash. :D

My buddy has a Camp 9 and a Camp 45. They are a lot of fun.

When Marlin build those rifle it was the low end of there line. The retail price on the rifle was under $200 back then. Now the camp 9 sell all day long for $550.00 and the camp 45 close to $1000.00. Plastic lower parts, the camp 45 cracks its stock. I replace the buffer and add the 21lb recoil spring to stop the stock cracking. With all that I truly love that rifle.

Let me know if you want to sell that UZI.

Anyway here the picture of the Beretta 82 that was my personal back up weapon. After many years put away in the safe it was time to come out and meet people.
