Firearms and alchol wipes

Our group is putting on an Outdoor Day for families and we plan on following all safety precautions for covid-19. Can someone tell me if we use alcohol wipes on the firearms will that be a problem. At the end of the day they will all be cleaned and oiled.
I personally don’t see an issue with a wipe down between uses. I’d recommend a slight oiling to Critical points as needed during the day. This is provided a very thorough cleaning and oiling at the end of the day.

I thought that you really couldn’t catch COVID-19 by handling things, what I read it’s more person to person contact, and yes, alcohol wipes will remove all oil and grease, and in turn cause rust unless you wipe said guns down right after using the alcohol wipes, don’t forget, your fingerprint acids will cause rust, especially on bare unprotected metal surfaces, just my opinion.

What kinda guns will be used in this event?

Are they polymer?

Are they made of stainless or aluminum?

Alcohol is used commonly to remove grease and oils from surfaces so I would recommend have some Remington oil wipes on hand to coat any steel surfaces of the firearms after the event.

My thought is oil wipes will also kill any viruses on the gun as well, after all it is a petroleum product. Also have hand sanitizer available for a before and after.
Yes you can get the virus if you touch a surface that has the virus on it, however you then need to put your fingers in your mouth, up your nose or rub your eyes.
IT DOES NOT OBSORB THROUGH THE SKIN.

We have some polymer, some wood and steel shotguns and rifles, and aluminum bows.
I definitely personally wouldn't worry about the aluminum but having some oil wipes on hand maybe beneficial for the steel surfaces.

If you're concerned about contact spread you can also pickup some nitrile gloves at home depot for short money.

I use these gloves whenever I'm cleaning my guns.

That’s actually probably the best advice right there. Offer nitrile gloves to your shooters and oil rag wipe down after each use.

I would second that with the gloves. or at minimum have some sort of hand sanitizer available. Your local covid rules may even require you to wipe them down with a specific solution after each use. Good luck with your event.
