Firm Attempts To Track Gun, Ammo Credit Card Purchases

While I have purchased a few pistols on a credit card, I almost always go with cash lately. I did write a personal check for my M1A, come to think of it, but that's like cash in this thread's regard. I also always pay range fees with cash, as well as local ammo purchases (but honestly with the vast difference between bulk online and local prices, very few local ammo purchases of late). Can't but online from the likes of SG without the credit card....

I've purchased a truckload with a CC. Every one I have ever bought online.

my "best guess", is that since it is a NY based bank, they want to track due to NY laws.

i have bought guns online too, with my credit cards, and never any issues.

i usually buy firearms locally, and for that, i will use my debit card.

i think too, that maybe the SEC (??) or what ever governing body audits banks, ought to do an audit on that banks monies as well, to make sure they are not breaking any banking laws or signs of money laundering, maybe for the cartels..

I haven't purchased an actual firearm online yet, not sure if I will until I get an AK...fallen in lust for a particular make/model that would never be in stock locally...and I am unsure about availability of steel-cased 7.62x39, which is what that rifle likes to eat
I've bought probably my last 10 firearms on-line. Make sure you are on a credible vendor sight. Set up an account. Takes a couple minutes. Use a credit card but do NOT set up a card as a default. Go find what you want and drag the link to your desktop. Then clear your history and close your browser. Then hit your link and open your browser back up. That way the only internet site in your chain is the one where you make the purchase. Be sure to fill out all the FFL info ( Usually your favorite LGS will be in their database), purchase your firearm. Copy and print or PDF your transaction, then sign out of your vendor account, close browser window and clear your history. It's a good idea to call your FFL and tell them you are having a gun shipped to them for transfer. It's also a good idea to buy something else besides the transfer fee from them while you're there. As a courtesy. Easy peasy.
