Susan Backlinie, first victim in 'Jaws' film, dead at 77

Susan Backlinie, known for being the first victim to be eaten by the shark in "Jaws," has died at 77. Her husband says it was "very unexpected" and that she died from a heart attack.

I always took exception to this scene as being bad work from the producers/ director.
Later in the movie, we learn just how massive Jaws is. He pretty much eats Quint whole when he slides in his mouth. Sooo, a great white his size shown later would have chomped that girl in half on his first bite when she is swimming. Even a “test” bite would have sawed her in half..

I get it.. fiction, drama , scene building, etc, etc.. but maybe he should have eaten a 1/4 of the buoy with her
