Florida putting bite on juvenile gun criminals

The article is somewhat incomplete. Juveniles who commit violent felonies are already charged and tried as adults. The change in the law mostly relates to gun crimes that would normally constitute misdemeanors. Previously the little so and so's were turned over to mama and right back on the street with little consequence

i just looked that up the "age of majority", and it covers all 50 states..

i see where FL they are adults at 18, and the maximum parole age is 21

and the age to be considered for adult court would be 14.....

i think it would be better if all states made the age of majority 21, and the adult charges to be at 12.....

too many times i have read, or seen on the news, kids under 14 killing people.

this shite needs to stop.

OH, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
Maybe if the "Justus" system hadn't been tolerating this B.S. for the last 20 years or more there wouldn't have to be a crackdown. Then I suppose a little something is better than nothing.
"they are/were misunderstood", or "underprivileged youth", or "fatherless", or "poor", and the bleeding hearts fought for them to get away with it....

we can thank many organizations, for that.

Yeah, the system changed. I mentioned being locked up as a teenager. Like I said, almost a year I did in a facility that was as close as you get to prison as a minor. Want to know what I did ? I was put on probation at 13 for shoplifting fireworks. It was supposed to be 6 months. It kept being extended though. Bad grades, extended. Caught smoking at school, extended. Fighting at school ( that was the big one) extended. Never anything criminal. My 6 Months of probation ended up being 2 years. When I was 15 I dropped out of school. When I told my mother she was understandably upset. She grounded me. I laughed at her and walked out. All it took was a call from her to my probation officer and I was deemed "Incorrigible" and ended up in the Missouri Division of Youth Services detention facility for almost a year along side all kinds of actual juvenile criminals. Yeah, I was a pain in the ass as a kid and did not accept authority, but I was not a criminal. When I got out at 16 I stayed at my parent's house for 2 days and then moved in with some friends and I have been on my own since. I did get a GED and ended up in college along side most of my schoolmates who went through high school without me, but....

Another honor graduate from the best school there is.... The School of Hard Knocks. (y) (y) (y) (y)

I won't get into it, but that's why I was good dealing with I/Ms. I spoke the language of the native's sort to speak.
"But for the grace of God go I"

i think we all get along enough to consider each one a "friend" or "friendly acquaintance"

every once in a while one of us gets under the skin of another, in either a debate or other form of conversation.....it's inevitable. language, colloquial sayings/meanings are different from one part of the country, to another, which sometimes gets misinterpreted.

but in the most general of all terminology.......

we all get along.

Rodney would be proud

now....a group hug, you super deluxe "friends"
