What is the difference ?
9mm on a ruger pc carbineDepends on caliber for thread numbers! Make sure you know what they are as for you can choose to some extent! What caliber are you looking at?
Did it come with a muzzle device or a thread protector? Most 9mm threads are 1/2 x 24 or sometimes 28 8f not metric? Ruger is most likely NOT metric! Are you changing the barrel?9mm on a ruger pc carbine
It's already threaded then?No I am not going to change the barrel
Ruger should have the info on thread pitch or ask @10mmLife ? I think he has 1?
The Ruger PC Carbine has the more popular 1/2x28 thread pitch so you can add a muzzle device of your choice.Ruger should have the info on thread pitch or ask @10mmLife ? I think he has 1?
Definitely get the threaded so you at least have options at upgrade later with a suppressor, muzzle brake or forward compensator. No I am not going to change the barrel it come two ways fluted and threaded . I am not sure if I am going to put a device on it but I do want the choice
Thank you good to know doesn’t sound like a pretty pictureThe Ruger PC Carbine has the more popular 1/2x28 thread pitch so you can add a muzzle device of your choice.
@javbike make sure the muzzle device you add is specifically made for 9mm because 5.56 barrels are also threaded for the same size muzzle device and it won't be pretty trying to force a 9mm through a .22cal hole over 100 FPS.
That's part of the problem with 9mm and 22cal having the same thread cross. 40cal and 45cal are sometimes the same also. Imperial is easier to find than metric or more choices anyway.Thank you good to know doesn’t sound like a picture
SLR makes an awesome forward compensator for 9mm and it's my go to for 9mm rifle.Thank you good to know doesn’t sound like a picture
