As Mossberg continues to refine and upgrade these firearms, the 590A1 joins the new Professional Series of firearms. Each gun in this series undergoes an enhanced assembly and quality control process, has special finishes and features, such as refining touches to the loading port to help optimize performance.

They’re all nice shotguns. I just don’t see anything about any of the new ones that departs so drastically from the ones I already have that I want to go out and buy one. Other than the optic cut/ready versions. And I have plenty of other shotguns that wear optics. In fact one of the reasons my trusty old 30-ish year old 500A is usually the closest one to me is because it’s so simple even a caveman can use it. One simple front bead. Devastatingly fast and effective at indoor distances.
