Franklin Armory Binary Trigger - Springfield Edge Pistol - Questions

Master Class
PSA had a screaming deal on FA Binary AR triggers today - $249. Ordered 2 and plan to drop them into a couple Saint Edge pistols/SBRs (one 556; one 300 blk).

Did a little forum searching and Tactical Pirate posted in 2021 that he dropped a couple in Edge pistols. (He was last seen here in 2023 according to his profile)

Any issues, considerations, etc installing and shooting these in an Edge Pistol (w/ maxim braces/stocks)?
Anyone done this? Is the OEM buffer and spring good with the binary trigger, etc????

I'd rather have a little insight before the install than during, or after.
(Have already watch an install video on YouTube for the trigger. I know the rear take down detent on the Edge Pistol is different - I.e. detent enters from above the pistol grip.)

I've built a few ARs - but have always used a drop in trigger.

Thanks in advance -

i haven't bought/used/installed any from FA, but haven't had any issues with fostech echo 2. install is a pita, but after doing 1 it gets easier/faster. i use the echo2 in small and large frame AR's. i setup 1 per frame and switch uppers. it's a blast to run 1 in a 5.7x28 as there's 0 (ZERO) recoil in a cmmc upper (radial delayed). buffer is 2-2.5ozs compared to straight blowbacks (7-10ozs). bcg is lighter than sbb's so that equates to about 9-16ozs less recoiling mass. in an untamed 308win it KICKS like none other. the fostech has the switch inside the trigger guard unlike the FA using the safety. make sure you have a full-auto carrier as the semi-autos won't trip/reset the binary function (unsure about the FA?). with a pistol setup you won't need (using the fostech) a spacer for a carbine tube. the cmmg kit contained a barrel, pistol buffer & pistol recoil spring, iirc. but you're using rifle cartridges so that's unnecessary. btw, $249 is a great deal as FA trigger cost $100/per more than fostech @ normal prices.

I dunno, I go through too much ammo with one bang per pull.😏. That said, #1 son has an FA binary in a 12/22 and an AR and it has NOT been a great experience as they seem to work when they want to. His have not been reliable. YMMV

I just bought a FA rifle with one. Got it at a great deal. We will see if it works. If not it will get sold.

I’m not sold on the utility of them. Or the significance of any minute increase in speed.
The couple times I ran then (before MN outlawed them), I thought they’d be great for real close work, as you could “double-tap” FAST, and you’d usually place both rounds within an inch or two within 20 feet.

Going out further? That second round would wander a lot more.

This was with a 5.56; other calibers could give different results (kinda wanted one for the Z5/MP5, but glad I didn’t, since it’d be a useless accessory for me now).

I've already got FA Binary triggers in 2 AP5s and an AR9 that have been totally reliable. (I did not do any of these installs.)
