Free floating handguard AR15

So I recently installed a UTG free-floating handguard on my AR. Does anyone know if there is a bracket you can mount on the barrel toSupport the front of the guard? seems like there should be something inside the handguard to support it to the barrel toward the muzzle so it doesn’t flex up there.

Free-float handguards are designed not to flex, and not to contact the barrel. Is yours flexing?

If so you can go with another manufacturer.

No it’s not flexing unless I manually squeeze it with my fingers down to the barrels the muzzle, it gives about a 16th of an inch with a good bit of pressure. The UTG mlok I put on there is pretty solid. This is the 3rd one I’ve built but first free floating handguard I’ve installed. Just curious if this is an issue for anyone using a forward grip or bipod.

^ Yup, like in the other thread ( https://www.thearmorylife.com/forum/threads/free-floating-handguard-mount.8911/#post-109951 ), no problem. :)

This is why for those who are more concerned about a solidly fixed free-float handguard (for mounting of, for example, a laser) that they pay much more money for one. "Deflection" of the handguard is a real thing, and even occurs for some of the really high-grade stuff that ostensibly sacrifices stiffness for, for example, weight.

As @Talyn noted, as long as the handguard isn't deflecting so much that it's making contact, you're good-to-go.
