Full of ammo

Went to pick up my online ammo order at bass pro shops today man they were really stock up I mean full everything loads of ammo they had everything you name it they had it never seen it like that in years
That's good news!!!

I've been seeing prices for 9mm drop steadily these past few weeks from certain online retailers also.

With manufacturing catching up and with the current fuel prices and inflation most people are probably scaling back on buying ammo.

Just went to Bass Pro in my area and they definitely had a lot of ammo in stock.

I grabbed a couple boxes of 220gr subsonic .300blk which hasn't been too commonly available these past two years.

Prices have been coming down. Do you buy now or chance it that it will go lower? Guess wrong and it goes back up. Do you buy ammo like stocks? Like dollar cost averaging. My needs have been for primers. Now I can be selective and buy components or ammo if discounted enough to move me.

My bet is ammo and everything else is going to go up. And that isn't even counting for the inevitable panic buying that is already gripping the gun world after the events of the last week.

Certainly seeing interesting variations in online prices vs. in-stock locally. I'm regularly seeing S&B 10mm (both FMJ and JHP for $27.99/box. That's $.59/round after tax included. Online the best price I can find is $.65-.70/round for the same stuff. OTOH, 9mm range ammo best price in-stock locally is $.42-.45/round, online I can get it for $.28/round delivered. Good thing I have the ability and time to stop and check stores multiple times/week while working...

I don't figure price per round, but price per 50 or 20 for premium. $16 for 9 mm fmj seems reasonable at the moment. Manufacturers evidently prefer consumers buying 20 count boxes over the 50 and finished rounds over components.
Without converting to a per-round price, I have trouble making comparisons for myself....and then being sure to include sales tax and freight before figuring price.

I do not feel even remotely bad about being this cost-conscious. Given that range sessions (range time + ammo) for me now costs a minimum of $85 for a 9mm session or $145 for a 10mm session, $160 if I bring the AR, and the same for my .308 (only shoot 100 rounds...too expensive to shoot more). I gotta start reloading...

I shoot a lot more .22 now. Range time is usually 50 rounds each for 9mm and .45 for some drills. Then switch to one of my .22 rifles for plinking/target for about 100 rounds.
I used to shoot a lot more 9mm but scaled back as i got better. A typical range session used to be 200-250 of 9 and 100-150 of .45. Can’t afford that now.
