Garden goods for winter

Putting up garden stuff for produce all winter. Today its corn heading to the freezer. Toss the package in boiling water and voila fresh corn in the cob this winter.

I’ve never gotten that to work well; we parboil the cobs & cut off the kernels; have about 30-40 qt bags in the freezer right now.

I tried it with snap peas and it worked pretty well. Although i sort of got sick of snap peas midway through winter. I’ve pickled cukes as well.

I've been vacuum sealing meat, fish etc. forever but never really thought of doing it with some of our garden veggies, duh. Gonna have to give it a try - although where we live, we're pretty limited in what we can grow.

we used to buy lots of corn and par boil then vac seal
we had corn coming out of our ....dare i say .....EARS
i like to cook them on the grill wrapped in the factory wrapper with butter
hmmmm

we also seed jalapenos and banana peppers then freeze ..we have peppers all year then
