Garrison SS 45 ACP, finally...??

yeah, way back on the 25th of July, i put on order the above titled 1911.

it finally arrived at the LGS.

but now, i ain't too sure i want it.

i am focusing on my reloading

it is going for $100 off MSRP.

might just let it go, or, trade in my SA-35, as i am weaning myself off of the 9MM platform.

i dunno....trading my SA-35 will at least bring the cost down a bit.

i got maybe 1 to 2 days at most.
 
I see Garrison's in almost every shop I visit each week, saw 3 SS models this week alone (and 2 travel days left to snoop). I just thought to myself today that SA must be ramping up shipping. I saw in one shop today an SA35, 2 Prodigy's, 6 Garrisons, 3 Hellions and 3 M1A Standards-Walnut, along with a plethora of Hellcats, XD-fill in the blanks, and others that don't register with me as having been scarce...Seeing tons of M1A's everywhere. Sorry about your wait!

Don’t get me wrong, the Garrison is a very nice pistol, but for me if I was going to spend money on a 1911, it would be another Colt, even if I had to add some more money to get it, but it’s just me. When I got my Colt Classic it was a little more than the Garrison, even though the Colt is just a plain jane 1911, it’s a Colt!

i actually do have a Colt Competition on order as well, and that might only be about a month less than the Garrison.

they must have ramped up production. S/A (to me) seemed to focus on some models more than the others, to get sales up, to me, totally forgetting the whole market picture of buyers.

yeah that's just it.....I LOVE my 1911's, and want a gazillion on them, but at the moment, i am way too focused on perfecting my reloading, which i will update in that thread on an issue i was having.

right now too, i am just losing "favor" of the 9mm..i still have (and will keep) my G-17 (my first gun purchase), the CZ 75B, tied for 1st with the Glock in purchasing, the Hellcat (my ccw), and the Beretta 92FS, and the soon (maybe) to find a new home someplace else, the SA-35

i just do not shoot the 9's as much as all of my 1911's (and CZ 97B in 45 ACP)

so to "dump" the current SA-35 is still an option, it runs great, no issues like the first run off the line has.

it's just (to me) another 9mm i can do with out.

well i ain't been to San Fran, so i know i didn't leave it there.

I am with you here. I lust after a SA TRP 1911 Professional, but I love my Colts.
 
I got the Colt, it came in with the Garrison. i forgot where i had this thread when i started the one below. mods/admins can you merge the 2..??

Colt Competition 1911 45 ACP

ok, so in another thread i mentioned about i had on order a S/A Garrison and a Colt Competition since July..i had gotten the email stating the Garrison came in. i had doubted that i wanted this Garrison right now, due to my focusing on my reloading well, i was "thinking" about dumping the S/A...
