Glock 43: A Top Selling Handgun in 2020

I believe that the top selling handguns of 2020 were the ones that were actually in stock. Those manufacturers who were able to keep their product on the empty shelves gained the most sales.

The only thing I could read into that article is that some manufacturers had the fewest supply chain disruptions, and had the capacity to meet the unprecedented demand of 2020. (Ask yourself, how many people bought a brand X pistol because it was the only thing available at their local or online reseller?)

This article proves that he who has the product on the bare shelf wins.

I think you hit the nail on the head. One of my neighbors shared that he bought a Hellcat a few months back. He made it clear that he had been looking for a full-size home-defense gun, but the Hellcat was the only doublestack in a defensive caliber that was in stock. The Hellcat is a great gun, but it clearly wasn't his first choice. I doubt my neighbor's experience was unique, and feel confident that this happened many times across the country.

If I were buying my first Glock, I would most likely go for a 43X or a 48 (with Shield mags for people living in a free state). The Glock 19 has a great reputation and a cult-like following, so I'm never surprised to see it on top of a sales list.

The success of the standard Glock 43 puzzles me a bit. There are many smaller options with the same capacity (ex. Springfield 911, Sig 938, several Kahr's), if concealment is the ultimate goal. There are also guns that are very similar in size that offer much higher capacity (ex. Springfield Hellcat, Sig Sauer P365). I understood the 43's success when it was new, but I am surprised to see it still selling so well on Gunbroker.

I am pondering getting this G48, had stainless slide, it was sent back to Glock to refinish in NdLC, didn’t like the glair of slide, has the metal mag release for the Shield mags.

A friend of mine bought a 48 last year and he was complaining how pickey the pistol was with ammo. He had a ton of failure to feed issuse using blazer brass and a couple other brands.

It could be just an issue with this particular pistol though I would suggest doing some research into feed issues on this model.

Lol, maybe that’s why it doesn’t look like it’s been shot a lot.....🤔🤔🤔🤔
