Glock G19: A Top Selling Pistol in 2020

I don’t own a G19 and with the glocks I do own I don’t know why? I’ve read several articles that it is one of their most popular. I really like and shoot my G17 very well.

I carry a gen5 G19 and I love it for that purpose. I really like the trigger on it compared to my gen4 G17.

It may not be the most visually appealing weapon, but you can conceal it and cannot go wrong with 15 rounds in a very controllable package.

I've used G19's and really haven't seen very-little worthwhile improvements to the G19 beyound the Gen 3 level.

But I guess a change in the stippling on the grip adds up to a new Gen according to Glock.

The Gen 4’s also introduced the changeable backstrap along with different texture (as well as some internal changes); Gen 5’s got rid of finger grooves, and (iirc) improved the trigger.

About the only model that just changed the stippling texture were the Gen3 RTF2’s (And, in the 17, was my favorite Glock model I’d owned).

The Glock 19 is an easy gun to shoot, but a hard gun to love. The ones I've fired have run flawlessly, but I've never developed any sort of attachment to one. I picked up a 15-round 9mm Glock not too long ago, but I went with the 48 with Shield Arms mags. The main appeal of Glocks for LE is that they will continue to work after years of constant exposure to the elements on a duty belt. If you're going to take care of your EDC gun, which will often be concealed, then I don't think the 19 has any real advantages over the 48 or 43x with 15-round mags. The Glock 17, 19, 45, and 19x are all excellent options for duty guns, but there are better options available for carry guns.
