When you consider that the effective range of a.50 caliber rifle is typically around approximately 2,000 yards, the question becomes where are you going to shoot it especially on the East Coast? In a populated area even 1000 yard outdoor ranges are hard to come by. For me, shooting at targets under 500 yards with a rifle that sells for $14,750 would be hard to justify the expense. Even at half that price it would be over the top.
