Well done. This kind of brings up a question i have never pondered, not ever know a long haul trucker personally.

What do long haul truckers do in regards to carrying firearms. Each state has such different rules do you comply with each, do you say screw it, do you not just carry in your truck. I know with some of the places and hours they end up I would want one.

Does the company you work for matter, as opposed to independents. Do you stop when entering every new state and Google thier laws to comply?

Just a curious question. Any now retired truckers have insights, retired because who wants to say the are currently breaking laws on the off chance someone looks into thier social media, if they are...

ALL companies are against us carrying..period.

if we get caught on company property or customers property its grounds for immediate firings.

there is no such thing as a Federal carry permit, but if you listen to all the former Navy Seals, or Rangers, or Green Berets, yes there is...but there isn't.

then there is always that guy who's father is a senator or congressman, or governor that gave him "special permits" to carry...there isn't any, just horse pucky BS...

you carry as a driver, you deal with the circumstances for violating state laws.

even if you have a multi-state permit(s), you still have to deal with company policies, when you are a company driver

as an owner-operator, YOU are the company, and still have to deal with the circumstances....like that HUGE tow bill, storage fee's and bail if you get arrested.......company driver..?? call a cab, you got fired.

a tire billy, a hammer, one can have in the truck, as they are normal trucking tools.

knives with a blade longer than 3", guns,...........good luck

that's why I left long haul trucking to the professional drivers. Way too many gov, companies rules. They can really stick it to you. But I'll thank you for doing a job I wouldn't do. I'll stick to tires.

yeah, thanks.....40 years worth, and a couple/three years of instructing idjuts....

too many think they can drive a big rig, cuz they can drive mommy's mini van around the block.

when i see all the major muck ups from them idjuts, following a GPS, onto a NJ boardwalk, or up the Dragon, you know you need to stay 500 feet behind them.

let them crash, pass them, tooting your horn, and laughing at them.
