Got that new Canik Mete SFX

Old_Me

SAINT
i had asked the gun store owner, when they were going to get them in. the son said they were getting in 4,.... 3 thursdays ago.

but each time i went there, they only had one, and it was the SFT, not the SFX, that i wanted.

got there today, the owners son said, that he DID get it in, and hid it in the back for me. but no one knew about this.

so it was there, i bought it in a New York minute.

i had a previous Canik, the TP 9 SF, but i sold it, and i liked it, but, well it was just one of those things, to sell it.

i'll keep this one for a while...
Great pick up @Old_Me. I have a Canik TP9 Elite Combat I bought a year ago. It has a fantastic trigger right out of the box. One of the best I’ve experienced that came on the firearm straight from the factory. Good luck and enjoy.

Let us know how it shoots please.

Canik’s price point is hard to beat.
yeah, the first Canik i bought, the price was well under retail. they shoot incredibly well. easy to field strip/clean/lube.

my last one ate anything i fed it. that was when i had to buy reloaded ammo, that i was lucky that out of a box of 50,... 40 would actually shoot.

now, all i have is new factory.

i hope to go tomorrow to the club.

I have been looking at those for a while. They get very good reviews. They are standard issue for alot of Turkish Military and LEOs. Have never shot one, but had the opportunity to handle, and dry fire one at my LGS. Felt great in the hand, and had a very nice trigger for a striker gun.

i expect nothing but the best, like my last one.

the only "downfall" of the Canik brand is, the availability of parts, and especially magazines.

my last Canik it took me like 4 months to get more magazines.

all my "usual" online suppliers are out of stock as well.

so i have my name on the waiting list.

but the people at Century Arms are fantastic. i do believe many still work from home too.

so emailing takes a day or two for a response.

yeah, the design on the new Mete has higher cut outs under the beavertail, and the trigger guard.

this guy here,
i trust 1000% for his reviews, and he has a good video on the Canik Mete.

I watched the review and blast it, my want meter is cranking up. Nice, nice firearm. The review was good, and I really like the looks of it. Plus, I have heard nothing but good things about it. Please keep us informed about how it does!

my first shooting impression of it, is that it is WAYYY better then the Canik TP 9 SF that i had.

that first Canik, had an incredibly strong RSA, that simply would not rack the slide back, either under hand power or firing power. so the amount of FTF, stove piping, drove me NUTS...!!!!!

so a quick email to Century Arms (the importer of Canik), sent me a "softer RSA", under warranty..!!. Canik as i was told, shoots primarily NATO loads..

try and get NATO loads especially during the pandemic, and the cost wasn't pretty either.

so i sold that one.

this one, has better cutouts at the top, just under the beavertail, and under the trigger guard.

now, the one thing that the video by Sootch00 did not realize?

those 2 small squared cutouts just behind the picatinny rail..??

are for "positive locking", in the supplied Kydex holster.

i will NOT carry this gun..that is for my Hellcat.

downfall of this brand, is spare parts. like magazines...the TP 9 SF mags will fit this, as i'd want the 20 rnd mags......but they are back ordered, from Century Arms, as well as all my other online retailers.

so it can be "a while" before i can get more magazines.

i was shooting 115 gr ammo, factory new, Remington brown box.....not one FTF, not one stove pipe, and NEVER a failure to rack the slide back for another round.

Canik, did REEALLLLL good with this new METE line....

i could have gotten the SFT, but i liked the looks of the SFX much more.
and Canik is NOT a high priced gun company, and the Turks DO MAKE incredible guns.

the factory video is on Youtube, very impressive.
