Gun Belts for EDC and CCW

USMC1911

Master Class

I mostly own leather holsters and I like a nice leather belt. Most of my belts come from Hanks leather. They make a sturdy gun belt and they look good with all styles of dress. What’s your favorite?

Hanks have two one for every day wear and one for work pants .the work one is well over a decade old, heck maybe over 20 years and still looks better than most belts i see. They both came with both brass and stainless buckles.

I have a thinner Hanks for suit use but have only worn it twice since I retired from IT over a decade ago. Two funerals where I was pall bearer. I wore a tie every day for over 20 years and grew to hate it so it's rare I wear one these days.

If i needed another belt I would get another Hanks, they have been great belts.

I got my concealed handgun permit about the same time I became a security guard.

The first company I worked for issued me a Law Pro brand uniform belt. It was crap. I wasn't carrying a gun at work at that point but with the the radio and the OC spray and the flashlight the belt literally split on me at work one day.

I called my wife at home and I had her run down to a local gun store and get me a black Tony Llama belt. I figured if the gun store sold it it would be okay.

Tony Lama makes good boots and belts but the belt I bought was not designed to be a concealed carry belt and it didn't last.

So I got on THR and I asked them. At the time I think really the only available option was Wilderness tactical and maybe Hank's belts.

I got the Wilderness Tactical because I didn't trust leather belts and because Wilderness tactical was an acceptable substitute for the HSS issue uniform belt.

The one that I bought was 1 3/4 inch. Because the duty belt HSS issued was that size.

I still have that belt it still looks pretty close to brand new. I almost never use it anymore because I it's actually too big for me now.

I ended up buying three more on eBay because my weight and my waist size fluctuated. You can usually find a pretty good deal on almost brand new belts because people do not pay attention to the sizing instructions that Wilderness tactical uses

I've never had one fail on me. The way I dress nobody can see my belt anyway so nobody's ever commented on it.

And I don't see any reason to spend money on a different brand when what I have works

I don't have a dog in this fight (yes I wear a gun belt every day, but I don't even carry a belt-holster....I pocket carry), but the Kore allows for a 4-6" waist variance with the way it cinches-up. Thus it's a great option when getting fat or skinny....without having to buy more belts.
