gun maker under fire (no pun intended)

I'm not sure what the big deal is considering kids play with airsoft and pellet guns modeled after AR's and other real life firearms. My 13yo shoots AR's when we go to the range without issue.

Bending to the anti-gunners will of what's an appropriate firearm just opens up the argument to be pushed towards the rest of the gun industry and will set a bad precedent. If this company was trying to sell this youth rifle to kids by pushing a violence related message that would be a different argument but for everyone to agree that this company selling youth AR's is wrong is only confirming that black scary rifles (AR-15's) are something that needs special government regulations to own them.

Absolutely.

It's also about a slight bit of discretion in turbulent times. Not unlike we hunters not carrying their deer on the hood of our car with the bloody cavity exposed. We have enough opposition already, we do not need to push those on the fence to the other side.

Heaven forbid you get your son a Browning T-shirt or something.

So, a manufacturer builds a black .22 rifle in kid's size. What do you think they should call it and who do you think it should be marketed to? Or do you think kids just shouldn't have guns?
You love putting words in people's mouth and twisting what they say Bob. I just believe the naming a new semiautomatic rifle on the very controversial, to some people, AR15 pattern a JR15 is a bit in your face and will do little positive for our side of the fence. Theee are any number of other names they could have given it it which would have been less provocative. Now go ahead and twist that however you wish, I have said my last word on it and will not argue.

I understand your point perfectly. So can you think of a name that denotes it's kid friendly design that isn't going to outrage anti-gunners ?

I just disagree that we should walk on egg shells to keep from offending people. JR-15 is actually pretty clever and I don't think it's over the top to anyone who isn't already looking to be offended. I think it's less over the top than a 100rd. drum, but we have those. I mean where do you draw the line?

Has anyone actually went to the manufacturers site and looked at the rifle ? It is as advertised. Smaller, lighter and SAFER.

Most of the time people see a headline and pass judgement without even digging into a story or bother to look at the source of the article which in this case happens to be a very left leaning news agency that uses key wording to push an opinion onto people that are usually less informed on the articles subject matter.

i was watching a recent video of Colion Noir, regarding the Remington payout/settlement. he goes on to blast the attorney about how much he gets of that settlement.

he also went on to say if anyone is against the 2A, ask them if they even know what the 2A is, as many are just "parroting" what they hear, and nothing else.

It even says only an adult is capable of unlocking the safety. Now I'm assuming adults could include teenagers too but regardless..
I have a youth length Rossi .22lr & .410 bore combo that has a key lock for the hammer to prevent the firing function though I never use this feature because all my firearms are locked up when not in use.

Experienced adult supervision and youth firearm safety education is the best safety for kids while enjoying shooting sports.

Sounds to me like this company is attempting to capitalize on the whole adults bringing kids safely into the shooting sports thing. They call their name ( Wee-1 Tactical) edgy. I actually think it's more over the top than JR-15 is. Definitely not the name I would have chosen, but then I probably would never have started an entire company that catered to youth shooting.
