Nice review of the new S&W Shield that Han’s posted in a different thread. This pistol looks interesting, now you have to decide, this gun, the Hellcat or the new Ruger now....decisions....decisions.....

I'm a big fan of S&W revolvers, but don't have much experience with their semi-autos. The Shield Plus definitely has my attention. I will probably buy one as soon as the "new" wears off and prices drop a bit. I never warmed up to the split/hinged triggers on the Shield series, but the new trigger and the added capacity has moved the Plus into my "buy" category.

Something I would certainly look at but... only limited to 10 rounds here. Not sure the price of a new gun is worth 2 rounds. Trigger has my attention as well. S&W usually gets their firearms on the MA roster pretty quick so I will certainly check one out when they are available.

My LGS in NH is expecting a large shipment of the new Shield pistol next week.

Most places will try and get full or higher than msrp for them because of Covid-19 inflation. I bet if you wait a few months after launch these will drop significantly in price considering the scarcity of ammo who wants to rush out pay top dollar then go to the range and spend just as much on a few boxes of ammo.

Not a hard choice at all. I purchased the Shield Plus and it has a nice trigger on it. Better than the one on the Hellcat I carry but it won't replace the Hellcat for some time. I'll have to put a few 100 rounds through it before I add it to my carry rotation. From what I've read and watched about the Ruger the reviews aren't that good. The RDP is nice but I have an astigmatism so Red Dots are out for me and I'm not impressed with the suppressor.
