I retired out of USP Terre Haute and made several Marion runs as a SORT guy.

We had M1 Carbines old Colt Oolice and pre Model 10 S&W that they cut up. We also were the last ISP that had M14’s in the towers. They retired them in 2006 and cut them up as well.

Sorry just saw a typo and couldn’t edit.

The M14’s were retired in 1996. The Colt and S&W early 1990’s then they started to go with 3rd Gen S&W but story has it Ruger sued and when I hired in the Ruger P89 DAO was the issues handgun. Aka boat anchor!

SORT I was issued an Sig 228 other teams had Glock 19 and some had S&W 5906.

BOP went back and forth with Beretta 92D Vertec in 2003 to recently (institutions kept what they had) Ruger P95 DAO around 2005 for a few years. Then in 2014 S&W M&P9 if institutions bought new guns. Year to year then in 2022 they piggybacked the DHS Secret Service/Border Patrol and Glock 47 is the contract guns for BOP now.
