H K shorty

Too short in my opinion.
He disagrees.

First off, I noticed some were wearing hearing protection and some were not, but I liked the helmets and the way they were cut out for the ear muffs. Hard for me to tell if the guys were using full auto. As for the short barrels, that's the tend. My son's dept issued SBRs several years ago. About a year later they issued suppressors as well. I wonder if that will become a standard option for the military in general? Since they are using HK416s then they are shooting 5.56×45mm. I wonder when rifles chambered for the 6.8 will show up in general use?

Not for boarding & other CQB ops, which these would be mainly used for.

Either way, you can easily make good hits with an 11” barrel out to 200 yards with no problem, further if you are willing to put the work in.

And as gear as epro goes—several guys were wearing in-ear rigs.
This. Even with just a tube and these guys have stocks. The thing you can't easily do with an 11" barrel and just a tube is have follow up shots anywhere near as fast as you can with a stock.

I suspect these will end up suppressed. I thought the new SEAL guns were 10.5" suppressed Noveskes.

I see the appeal for this size of rifle especially in CQB and boarding. I couldn’t imagine having to maneuver and operate within the interior of a ship with a big ol’ 16-inches. There are some tight areas.
