Bought my first and only .45 (albeit striker fire) XD45 well over 10-12 yrs ago.
Never gave much thought or impressed by the SF action but awed by the smoothness of the jumbo caliber.
Still today I find The 45 to be a quite a pleasant, trusty, and reliable delight that never fails.
The 45 will continue to keep and make shooting great again. The 45 is the idea candidate for protection, freedom and the American way.

I think the 1911 is beautiful. I could easily see a hard chromed or beautifully blued 1911 on display in a modern art museum. In fact you could do a complete exhibit. A 100 Year Retrospective: The Art of the 1911.

Wasn't the 1911 I was talking about. If you read the post I was replying to, it said, this what YOU look like with a 1911. With a picture of some 80s guy and 80s phone. I was saying I really don't worry what I look like. I don't care If I look anachronistic. I care about the results of the tool

The 1911 is the best looking pistol I know of, IMO. Or CAN BE the best looking, in its military guise its utilitarian looking.

I must have misunderstood. I have always considered you a gentleman of impeccable taste.
