Leave it off!The thread protector comes lose after firing 5 or 6 rounds. How can I fix this problem?
Great tip, would likely prevent carbon build up as well.Plumbers Teflon tape works well and a roll can be picked up at any hardware store for under $2.00
You don't need to wrap it around much but I would recommend wrapping it the same direction you would to put on the thread protector as not to unwrap it while installing the protector.
I've used this for mounting a direct thread suppressor and haven't had any issues.
Good idea to share that info, thanks 10mm. - I forgot about the teflon tape tip.Plumbers Teflon tape works well and a roll can be picked up at any hardware store for under $2.00

There is also a yellow plumber's tape which is rated for gas not that it really matters for where it's being used.Plumbers Teflon tape works well and a roll can be picked up at any hardware store for under $2.00

Likely work. Have heard of, never seen, needed or used though. Usually use gas proof pipe dope for gas lines. There is also a yellow plumber's tape which is rated for gas not that it really matters for where it's being used.
