Heckler & Koch Launches HK USA to Meet Growing U.S. Demand

Everything ain't for everybody.
And for the record I prefer my IWIs be made in Israel. 💁‍♂️
Soo, what say you if Germans and Israelis are making firearms in the USA.
The companies have not said it will be 100% Americans. I would imagine like any global company, your home country employs workers from the original factory

I'd say they are made in America dude. Obviously. And I'm not making any comment on whether or not they are as good. I'm just saying if I want to buy an American handgun I'll buy it from an American company.

I’ve heard rumors that roller lock rifles—HK91’s, HK93’s, HK94’s—are coming back with this. Possibly a UMP, too.

As well as a possible TRUE G36 rifle (not the SL8 compromise).

Sploosh.
Rumor is they are going to do an SP7, semi auto version of the MP7.

Posted this before I read all the comments above.

Did I mention they’re going to make an SP7. It’s not even a rumor anymore.

BTW, I may have skewed HK’s decision to go American by buying 6 HKs in the last year. Their CEO was reported to have said, “Gott im Himmel, das VP9s ist selling like hot kuchen!. We must go to America. Macht Schnell, macht schnell!

One of the top LE pistol trainers in the nation, Darryl Bolke, has mentioned several times that the HK LEM trigger makes the HK's one of the best of the "people management" trigger systems. It's not ideal for top tier gaming, but when lives and millions of dollars in liability is at stake, it's an excellent tool. (y)
LEM is a mixed bag. You love it or hate it. You don’t tend to find too many people on the fence about LEM. Personally, I think there’s a reason virtually no one else does a LEM trigger or version of it. Closest is the P99 Anti-Stress trigger. Even in the HK community there is a gigantic collection of HK apologists that know deep down the LEM trigger is s#!t. Don’t trust yourself to not accidentally shoot someone under pressure, get a DA/SA.

So you rule out any product made in America by a foreign company ?
Correct ?
An analogy. Spector basses. Stuart Spector, a furniture maker, started building basses in Brooklyn. Really nice basses. Soon he bought a farm in Woodstock and turned it into a custom shop. The basses were works of art. You would have a couple year wait when you ordered a Spector and they started at about 5k. Spector licensed his basses to be built in Czechoslavakia. Same build quality, same electronics, body blanks were not fancy spalted maple and all that so all the Euro basses were solid color. I paid $2800 for my Euro NS4. It's an amazing bass I had a Woodstock Spector on my bucket list for a long time. And then Stuart sold the company to Korg. They're kinda like the WalMart of the music gear world. The workshop is still there and presumably the same employees. US made Spector is no longer on my bucket list.

I worked with a guy who carried the SIG DAK trigger gun and used it for duty & IDPA with great results. When they ended personally owned firearms for duty use, he was kicking rocks for a good long time. Many of the people like myself who cut their teeth on double action revolvers like the Light LEM or DAK and both were viable duty weapon triggers. My preference has always been the 1911's but when you have someone like Bolke who was in several shootings; part of the investigation of upwards of 50 more, plus about a decade training his agency's tactical team and another 20 years of training cops & public in defensive pistol, it's worth paying attention to. I like the traditional DA/SA and have a SIG 239 .40 for when I choose to carry AIWB.

I hosted Bolke for a class here last year and he was giddy he had me in the class with my duty set up and a guy from ST Louis area had a P30 LEM.

You can run LEMs as fast as anything else where they really shine is in the Application side where you have to assess each shot in a LE role as Bolke says. It’s sort of the best of both worlds there.

I know the US Border Patrol loved their P2000 LEMs that’s where I got turned on when I was teaching and getting my learn instructor recert at FLETC.

So I’ve got one of the original US made HK45C’s, with the “Liberty Bell” proof mark.

Zoom in on the frame a little in front of the slide stop release, or on the slide right after the “BD”-2013-date code.

The later US made versions omitted it.

It’d be nice to see them bring it back.
