Hellcat pro, can’t take apart magazine

Hello, just picked up my brand new hellcat pro. Every time I get a new gun I take it apart before I shoot it the first time. So I am trying to take apart the magazine. On the baseplate there is a hole with a little metal tab inside, my understanding is you push down on that, and when you do, you are pushing the spring down, and you should be able to slide the base plate off. I have pushed it down but this base plate does not budge. I am in NJ where we have 10 rd magazines. Are these magazines glued shut?

Thanks
Ed

Have several magazines, including 3 Springfield handguns. Never had any problem disassembling the Mags, but none of mine were purchased from a state that denies ones rights. You may have something there, perhaps they are required to add a restriction.

Have you read the owners manual?
There may be something in that that explains what you need to do.

You can also call Springfield Armory and ask a customer service rep.

Yea, the mags may be permanently assembled and don’t come apart……all my Springfield mags come apart….🤔🤔
