Hellcat RDP broken striker

Was dry firing my Hellcat RDP (I always use dummies) and the slide stuck in the eject position, stumped me and could not figure a way to release it. I really wondered if I screwed something up the last time I cleaned it which was a few days ago. I took it to my local gunsmith and he recognized the issue the striker broke. At the back of the striker is a little anvil shape and that broke jamming the slide. He was able to release it and showed me the striker. He says that this was a known problem with Hellcats. I'm very curious if anyone else has heard of this? Springfield Armory did send a replacement striker but I took a recommendation from the gunsmith and got one from another supplier that forges a much tougher one.

Strikers are MIM, mold injected, not sure thats “forged”. Somebody correct me.
Things do break and it’s possible that it’s poor qc part that snuck through. I don’t know.
I can’t speak to it being a “Springfield issue” but I have had an ejector break on me with a Polymer 80 less than 100 rounds in.
I replaced the ejector and sold it.
I have not had it happen with either of my Springfield (HS) Hellcats or any of my Glocks. Now watch this post make a liar out of me at my next range visit. 😑

Only thing thats forged on the Hellcat are the slide, barrel, the striker is MIM like most of its internals are, if MIM is done right, they can be durable, but if you do any kind of trigger work like on a 1911, or a revolver, you just have to watch as to not go to deep when your filing any surfaces, MIM is only surfaced hardened. I have seen many Hellcat striker breakages and yes, during dry firing like you said, weird.

Who was the supplier the gunsmith recommended that you get the new striker from?
Here is the answer from the gunsmith: The striker we put in your gun was the Lightening Strike model from NDZ Performance. As I mentioned the gunsmith said this was a know issue with Hellcat's and that this replacement striker was forged and hardened. Hope this helps.
