Hellcat vs XDS Mod.2 slide stops

Shooters, I’m thinking of picking up one of these guns to carry in the hot weather. I was able to shoot a friend’s XDS 9 and found that with my usual high 1911 grip I was apparently holding down the slide stop and the slide failed to lock back when empty on 3 of the 5 mags I used. The gun shot well and handled better than my XDM compact.
Has anyone had this problem with the Hellcat?

The smaller the gun the more pronounced the issue is going to become. It only took me a couple of hundred rounds of purposeful shooting to adapt to the Hellcat and stop riding the slide lock.

Same here with my XD-S Mod.2.
