Help Springfield 1911 + wilson combat mags won’t feed

Bought a new springfield defend you legacy 1911. Picked up a couple wilson combat mags and loaded them up, only problem is the mags will not feed the bullets. Any ideas on what the fix is ?

What WC mags did you buy ?
The 8 round or 7 round.
If I’m not mistaken the 8 rd WC wont feed the DYL SA 1911

Does it feed with factory mags?

Is this the first time using this particular ammo?

I have a DYl 1911 and I had an issue with some WC mags as well previously .. i think I had the 8 rd

They are 7 round mags, the factory mag loaded just fine. They are hollow point rounds

Ok, new gun needs broke in before HP ammo, plus some guns only like certain brands/type of HP ammo

Wilson Combat is my go-to magazine for my 1911s. They've been totally reliable in all my guns regardless of ammo.
Maybe the gun just needs some break-in time? If the problem persists, I'd be calling Springfield.

Ok found the problem the Wilson combat has a small black butt plate and the mag is not fully seating. Any ideas?

Probably will have to get different mags, or see if Wilson's can get you different base plates.

Different brands have different follower designs. I've had issues just because of the follower.

If you have a good gunsmith get a throat & polish job which should fix the issue with any brand of magazine.

Buy different mag plates from Wilson Combat. They're cheap and easy to swap.
