I've experienced some of the same pros and cons. I have a g31(357sig) with a comp and the casings drop at my feet(good and bad). I removed the comp to shoot and it was unpleasant as in the slide came back at a very fast speed. I'm sure it's over pressured and only shows signs when the comp is off.
