I received this Email from Henry (as I'm on their mail list), listing some of their new releases and modifications. Looking at it at first, I thought "Hmm, I didn't know Henry made revolvers", to find out they are new to their firearms catalog. As for the other items, I always wanted to get the Mare's Leg in 45LC as it reminds me of Steve McQueen in "Wanted Dead or Alive".

I liked the looks of the birdshead revolver until I saw that they all have brass frames. That's a deal breaker for me.
The email states the frames are Steel for the revolvers:

".357 Mag/.38 Spl | Double Action/Single Action | Polished Blued Steel Frame | Polished Brass Trigger Guard/Backstrap | Genuine American Walnut Grips | Two Grip Configurations"

I think the "Brass" you saw and mentioned, are about updates to their Polished Hardened Brass lever action rifles (Big Boy Brass models). These rifles are getting updated to include side loading gates in addition to the front magazine tube loading.

Cannot say as I really mind them, actually quite nostalgic looking. Design features from the old HR revolvers with thier own twists. Ya, I could see owning one...

Basically they are what they made thier brand on. Taking an old design, using modern materials and some modern improvements.

Yeah, if they live up to Henrys reputation for build and finish quality, why not.

Yes, but they're asking new S&W prices for them.

I'll stay with my real old S&Ws, thanks.
Henry's have always been on the more expensive side for the design type, but thier build quality and performance have always been top notch in my experience. Hope they sell well, it's nice seeing something with a different vintage look.

As far as Smiths, great choice as always. Just nice seeing a new option.
