Agree, no intention to fire upon. I believe LE has or can have a bit more restraint and discipline when it comes to deadly force, but accidents can happen, distorted views, etc. along with plenty of what-ifs and the ongoing investigation before whatever they say had happened.
Whats interesting is the time it took for the warrant execution.
It’s a fair assumption they contacted this guy way back months ago when the (3) threats were posted, he likely refused to come in for an interview, didn’t return a phone a calls, ignoring any communication.
We know they watched the house, his social media, got the phone records, surveilled his whereabouts and followed him around for weeks ….BUT decided to raid his house on the SAME day and within hours the POTUS was to arrive. We don’t know why, we don’t know what steps this guy took or was doing at or around 6am yesterday and what prompted a large contingent to execute the raid and act quickly at that moment when they had plenty of time all last month.
For one, it makes better news. If Mr Waffles wasn’t coming to Utah, there would be no news, no expediency, wait longer for a different crisis moment.
But notice, even today the day after…very little is being mentioned anywhere about the incident, the man, his “arsenal” or manifesto.

Robertson posted the following on social media on Monday: "I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghille suit and cleaning the dust off the m24 sniper rifle. welcom, buffoon-in-chief!
They called him a MAGNA TRUMPER! Showed stock pictures of racks of AR - 15 rifles and ammunition. Officers knocked on his door and he told them to go away. They came back with a warrant, said he was "holding" a gun, they opened fire.
If he said the same remarks bout President Trump he would have been praised by the left. Just a harmless keyboard warrior. His family says he was disabled had a hard time getting around. Always willing to help anyone who needed it. This doesn't pass the smell test. I don't believe any of it. I think a lot more of these tactics will occur, now thru the next election.

Ok, I read the article referenced but I do not see any reference to the statement that he was "holding a gun" and "they opened fire". Is that in other reporting maybe? I imagine we'll find out sooner or later.
No doubt the old man was a complete moron. I somehow doubt he was actually a credible threat, but saying things like that didn't leave them much choice but to follow up on it. I'd like to know how the shooting went down. I still wouldn't be shocked if the FBI jumped the gun and went overboard, but who knows.

Where do people get these crazy ideas about liberals. They are not secretly like this guy. They are basically who they say they are, just like everyone else. Otherwise, Trump would have been assassinated hundreds of times.
And the Secret Service always rounds up credible threats before a POTUS visit. It saves them from getting shot while on a protection detail.

Latest reporting I have seen is that two agents reported he pointed a .357 at agents before he was shot. If that's true, stupidity has consequences, game over. He had a history of bringing his guns out in conflicts, according to what I read. It almost reads like a suicide by cop
