The latest on Sig P320 incident and some results of some law suits
When we last left the ongoing saga of claims that the P320 pistol is somehow unsafe, a small police department in Connecticut had made public a video of an officer’s duty gun discharging while he was involved in a tussle with a suspect. If you haven’t seen it, here it is . . . Officer’s […]

Thanks for posting that sir.
Lots of great comments...
I had a Sig P320 Compact. It felt ok, had a nice trigger, and was accurate. I went back and forth on whether to keep it. I verified from Sig that my P320 had been upgraded.
I got offered a trade of a Glock 19 Gen 5 with night sites, and extra magazines. I'd never handled a Glock 19 Gen 5 and it fit my hand better than the Sig P320. I've owned Gen 2 and Gen 3 Glocks and they were ok. Maybe it was that I hadn't handled Glocks in a while but the Gen 5 felt like the Glock I always thought it could be.
I like Sig Sauers a lot. I've owned several P220's, a Sig 1911 revolution, various P229 models, and P239. But all the stuff about the P320 just didn't sit well with me. I believe the P320 is a good design.
I think some firearm owners get complacent with safety. I have snap caps for the handguns I train with and handle frequently. I never ASSume my weapon presentation technique is perfect. So i'm constantly trying to smooth it out and keep it as safe as possible.
The deciding factor was the Glock fitting my hand better than the P320. Plus the G19 was easier to rack the slide than the P320, which is important for a 65 year old like myself. I wanted to like the P320 but I just never bonded with it.
I've wanted to handle a Sig P365XL. Maybe I will get to one of these days. I've always been more accurate with Sig Sauers than any other semi-auto. I'm glad Sig prevailed in all of those lawsuits. I hope Sig is around for a long time..
