HI-POWER MODS

That's a nice P-35, and I'm sure it's now a much nicer gun than the one he started with. He made sensible mods and for the most part did them with style. I'd be proud to own and shoot that gun. (y)

I don't think it's much if any nicer than the SA-35 right out of the box, though. He didn't mention what it cost, or what it would cost to duplicate, but I'll bet the number is a lot higher than MSRP (whatever it is) of a brand-new SA-35. Is it THAT much nicer/better than a box-stock SA-35. Not to me, it's not. ;)

As an addendum to my first post, FN/Browning did start making some internal parts using MIM vs. traditional/investment casting in the later years of Hi-Power production., but there is a difference between the two.

What is the difference between forged and MIM parts?

MIM vs Forging have different capability in metal manufacturing. Metal injection molding is perfect for small metal parts with high-volume production, while metal forging is suitable for simple metal parts with excellent strength.

My SA-35 finally works. After 3 trips back and forth for same issue they replaced mine with a new gun. This one is a keeper a little over 1000 rounds without issue. I don't see a need to tweak anything on it whatsoever. All I changed was the grips. Just my two cents worth...

Sorry, strongly disagree.

If you "need" an extended slide stop to run a P-35 (or, for that matter, a 1911), you're doing something wrong. ;)
Sorry, you don't know what the BHSS extended slide release does besides making it easier to drop the slide.

So, maybe read the BHSS description of what else it does, and there's nothing wrong with using one on a BHP.

Okay, just to be fair, I read the description. That little "improvement" in stripping procedure's not worth $28 to me.

Of course, I've never bought that miracle gizmo that lets you reassemble the Ruger Mk I/II, either, but then maybe I'm just somebody who learns the right way to do something. ;)

But hey, if that thing makes YOUR life better or easier, then good for you, I guess. ;)
