Today, I received a Hogue Grip for my full sized XD9. I bought the grip to try and “soften” the recoil during shooting. I have moderate arthritis in my thumbs and the hard polymer uncovered grip tends to make me wince in pain.
Only took about a couple of minutes to install the grip. I, first, softened the grip by squeezing it in my hands. I cupped the grip in my two hands and blowing on it. Watched a couple of videos on how to install the grip and they make it look complicated. Actually, it is quite simple.
After the grip was installed, I held the pistol up and sighted it. The difference was like night and day!! Very comfortable to now hold the pistol and didn’t aggravate my arthritis whatsoever. Now to shoot the pistol!!
