Great article! The one thing I would add is a short description of yourself, your location in the house, and the fact that you are armed on the 911 call so the responding LEO's don't mistake you for the intruder(s). Once LE is inside, be prepared to quickly holster your firearm or place it in a non-threatening location and make sure LE can see your empty hands.

Nice article and very similar to the plan my wife and I have worked out. I really agree with the no searching and hunker down mentality, while calling 911.

Some guys I know keep a HiViz vest and if a situation like this arose and LE arrived the would have that vest on to let LE know they were not the intruder but the homeowner. Of course they would put it on when the time was right.
