Hot Shot .... mace?

Sld1959

I stopped at the Dollar General today, not a huge fan of them but they have one thing I love... HotShot wasp killer. Probably made somewhere with stuff that will kill me but dang it works better and faster than anything.

So I pull up to go in and see three people standing over a third rolling on ground. Naturally curious I go over .

Well long story short this older woman stopped in for some Hotshot, go figure, she got the same I wanted too, the thick far shooting stream stuff. This bum tried to steal her purse on the way out so she zapped him in the face with hot shot. Bug killer 1 thug 0. They were waiting for the sheriff to arrive and simply entertaining themselves as they waited.

Gotta love the resourcefulness of the old folks… and where they probably learned a bit about quick response tactics….

Hornet spray (what I call it) great against an attacker? For folks that don't want a gun in the house I might recommend it. However I would also add, it's not as good as having a gun because an assailant just doesn't want to sting you! Like in the story I've heard others say it works, but the data just doesn't support using it for self-defense. If it's illegal to carry pepper-spray where you live then hornet spray is better than nothing at all.

Here in the South, wasps are quite common. Folks here learned that wasp spray makes a dandy self defense tool long ago. Sprayed in the face or eyes, its downright nasty. And most cans have a range of 20-25 feet.
I knew one lady who spent most of her day working alone in a small church office. She kept a can of wasp spray sitting right there on her desk. Nobody ever questioned it. ;)

My grand mother would always say she would “kick them in the nuts!”.
Thank God she never had to.

well some bug spray and a Louisville Slugger, as well as broken legs, of an assailant, ought to stop him.

I'm saying you're wrong.

Like I said, I saw the guy I saw the spray and he was in pain. No matter what your you tube expert says, it worked. Go buy some hot shot spray it in your eyes snd nose and let me know what happens until then it's done.

You believe what you want. This is the end of my part of this discussion between us.

I can tell you that I have gotten Raid wasp and hornet killer in my eye and it doesn't feel good. I've had a wasp problem in the corner over here for a few years. I ripped all the siding and soffit and fascia off the house this spring and put new on, but I never could find the queen. They're back. I've went through probably 6 cans in the last 3 weeks.

Pro tip, take care spraying wasps when it's windy outside.

Yeah, the woman mentioned that last night. Might be what I do. I think Delta Dust will work.
