House Clearing: To Clear or Not to Clear

What should you do — if and when — you hear that dreaded “Bump in the Night” that awakens you from a sound sleep? There are things that must be considered as you try to clear the cobwebs from your mind.

The bad guys should not know where you are until they see your muzzle flash. Wait for law enforcement to arrive and let them clear the house, they are trained to do that. Remember to stay in communication with them until you have eyes on each other.

I'm trying to think of a good way to address this topic and it's hard to find anything to say that wasn't covered.

So I'm just going to add my minimal experience.

When I was working I had to clear a couple of buildings (and one crypt).

There was nothing that I did at work that I hated more or that scared me more than trying to clear a building even with a partner.

The best advice I could give is to have a friend hide in your home with an airsoft gun and you go in and try to find him.

Even in your home that you know like the back of your hand I bet you will get "shot" before you find him.

Yup-been said. Working on training a lady now. Her BR is at the top of the steps. I advised a motion light for downstairs (to light up the boggy) while she takes a defensive position covering the stairs while calling 911-the goblins can only come at her one way, and if the motion light comes on she Knows somebody is there
