HOW A 80'S COLT KING COBRA CHANGED MY MIND ON REVOLVERS

Only drawback on this Colt revolver it was made during the 1986 Colt strike years, no workers to make these guns so Colt pulled office personnel off there jobs and put them into production, so sometimes you got a good one, most times you didn’t. I had a Python from this time frame, one trip to the range and all the lands shot out the barrel, also had a 1911, the slide was so soft, during barrel/slide lockup, the lugs on the slide chewed off. Good article though.

I had two Colt Gold Cups (a 70 & 80's Series) and they were very loose. I was really disappointed and when I discovered SA 1911's I got rid of the Gold Cups and went to SA.

The only Colt I have from that era is a limited edition model.

I have a Python 6" stainless from around '82, but it's never been fired so I can't attest to the quality except from other's reports of their similar guns and my own expectations. But, I do have 2 Colt Trooper III's from 'about' the same time period (maybe a little earlier) that I absolutely love. One is stainless, one is blued. They are both excellent shooters and neither have ever let me down under any circumstance.

Joe, the strike started in 1986, so anything before that date should be regular normal production. FYI
