All great ideas.
4" screws have been standard for me for 20 years now. I was a contractor for 25 years and I have installed more doors and windows than I can count. All strikers, whether entry locks or dead bolts get 4" screws and all dead bolts pass through a steel plate screwed to the 2x framing.

Good article
My teenage children know where all the guns are in the house and how to effectively use them. My 14 yr old son can handle a pistol, shotgun and AR as well or better than ol Pop here can ..
They know the drill for 911, noise and deterrence but if someone gets in... better call the morgue. discussed and practiced know what you arw shooting and where a family memeber may bw so you dont shoot someone in the next room, just like “know your target and beyond”

when I am away, momma has said she feels very secure with the dog and knowledge the kids will be armed rapidly if needed
