I have a question. It's either a question or a revelation.
The model I have ( LE model) is billed sometimes as a 6+1 and sometimes as a 7+1. There is no extention tube, it's a full length magazine tube. My tube holds 6 of almost all the shells I have tried with the 7th round always very close to fitting. Sometimes with some shells it ( the 7th round) will tuck in, but with most shells it goes in far enough to drop the lifter, but then it pops up on to the lifter.
So, as you may or may not know, the magazine spring is held in the tube with a plastic retainer cap that slides into the end of the magazine tube and is held in place with a small cut out tab. Then the screw on end cap goes over the end of the tube and tightens down to the fore end. This is so when you unscrew the end cap, the spring doesn't fly out and hit you in the eye because you failed to pay attention. Well, anyway, if you remove the the plastic retainer cap and just put the screw on end cap over the spring and tighten it down, you can now easily load that ( in my case) 7th round into the tube.
I have manually cycled a full mag out with it set up like this but I haven't gotten it to the range to shoot it. I Googled it and there are people on the internet who have done this and who say the ONLY function of that little retainer cap is to hold the spring in the tube for easier assembly/disassembly and that the gun functions fine without it.
Has anyone else tried this ? I will get to the range ASAP to try it out.
